Merry Christmas!

Wow! The Silver Room did a fantastic job performing "Up on the Housetop" for the SCDC Christmas Program. Kudos to the teachers, Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Michele for getting the kiddos ready for the spotlight...and a special thanks to Ms. Mary Lee for a fantastic and meaningful program!

Thanksgiving Feasts

Thanks to Ms. Michele and Ms. Suzzane for a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast - and to the parents for providing yummy food! The kids look like they had a REALLY good time!

The kids even shared why they are thankful for their friends...

Caroline - Alyssa is a good friend. She loves me so much.
Alyssa - I have fun playing with Harper. We play Kitty and Princess.
Adam - Sometimes Carloine helps me with my work.
Jack - Luke says "please" when he wants to play with my toy.
Harper - Adam talks to me at lunch.
Dylan - Ella is true. She tells me goodbye when I go home.
Luke - Ava always says "hello" to me in the morning.
Hannah - Jack is great at kicking the ball.
Lily - Brooke shares her dolls with me.
Ella - Lily is a good friend. She shares with me.
Lily - Alana plays nice with me at school.
Joshua - Dylan talks to me. He is nice to me.
Alana - Joshua is kind. We share the crayons.
Ava - Hannah always shares her toys with me.

Such a cute idea...thank you to the teachers for sharing!

Fire Truck Visit



It sounds like the Silver Room enjoyed a visit from the Allen Fire Department despite a little rain. The kids were able to tour the fire engine, see all the equipment, ask questions, and even pose for a picture. Above is a shot of the class out in front of the truck. (Thanks, Ms. Lisa!)

Halloween Fun

We had such fun today at the Halloween Party!  The kiddos made Halloween name necklaces/bracelets, decorated cookies, and created original pumpkin masterpieces.  They ended the party by eating their cookies and posing for costume pictures.

Thanks to the teachers for all of their help and patience and to the parents for pitching in for an afternoon of fun!

October Family Chapel

Family chapel for October was super cute.  The kids and Ms. Susan have been talking about the story of Ruth.  The Bible verse for the month was: "When I am afraid, I will trust in you.” Psalms 56:3

Ms. Susan compared trusting in God to wearing a life jacket when you go in deep water.  (She even brought a life vest to wear today!)  The kids LOVED it!

Finally, they finished up chapel singing and doing the hand motions to "Kum by Ya"...with the verses "Someone's trusting my Lord, Kum by Ya".  It was super sweet!

Bike-a-thon 2010

Wow!  What a wonderful day for the 2010 Bike-a-thon!  The kiddos looked fantastic and had a blast riding around the track on their bikes and scooters.  A special thanks to all the parents - we had a great cheering section for the Silver Room.

Don't forget to continue collecting donations for our fundraiser.  Bike-a-thon enevelopes are due next Thursday, October the 28th.

Bike-a-thon Spirit - Go Silver!

In the past, each class wore their classroom colors on the day of bike-a-thon.  However, this year SCDC has made bike-a-thon t-shirts for all the kiddos to wear the day of the event.  The teachers will put the shirts on the kiddos next Wednesday morning before they ride.

We are asking, though, that parents continue the tradition by becoming the room's "spirit leaders".  It can be as simple as wearing a silver shirt (okay, gray) ...or making signs and banners with silver letters...or bringing pom poms to wave...it doesn't matter...just be creative! 

The kids LOVE to see their "fans" cheer for them - giving them movitvation to make a few extra laps!
